Veliko Tarnovo /Video/

November (2019) we visited Veliko Tarnovo to make another trip through our favorite city in Bulgaria. Unfortunately, the weather was not with us and it was a little darker and colder than usual, but this did not stop us from going around the Tsarevets fortress and the Assenevtsi monumnent. We shot some footage and now during a state of emergency, we finally managed to combine all the ckips into a short video. We hope you like it.

Tsarevets fortress

Tsarevets is a hill in Veliko Turnovo, as well as a fortress of the same name in medieval Turnovo. The fortress is located near the old town of Veliko Tarnovo. It was the main Bulgarian fortress during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (1185 – 1393), when Turnovo was the capital of the kingdom. During the Middle Ages, the hill on which it stands is entirely built up with residential and administrative buildings.

Tsarevets is one of the 100 national tourist sites, there is a BTS seal.

Assenevtsi Monument

The Assenevtsi Monument (also known as the Assenevtsi Monument, the Horsemen) is a monument in Veliko Turnovo dedicated to the Bulgarian kings Assen, Peter, Kaloyan and Ivan Assen II. The monument is located in the Boruna area, at the foot of Sveta Gora, on the rocky cape of one of the bends of the Yantra River, creating the feeling of a natural amphitheater. In the immediate vicinity are the Boris Denev State Art Gallery and the Stambolov Bridge. The address is Alexander Stamboliyski Str., Veliko Tarnovo.
